Family Legacy
In 2011, I became Queen Samaap, a member of the Society of Friends of the Afro-Antillean Museum. I was deeply involved in activism, with a primary goal of empowering Afro youth who lacked pride in their heritage and culture. My mother, a retired teacher, has always been my biggest supporter. She was no exception in this endeavor, offering her help by sewing the dresses I would wear for my presentations. This marked the beginning of a venture dedicated to celebrating and showcasing Afro culture through fashion.

I'm confident that modern women can exude beauty while flaunting their passion for African fabrics.
What moves me?
Many years ago, my grandparents inspired me to embrace and uplift the culture of my ancestors. From a young age, I witnessed the persistent issue of racism in my country. My first personal encounter with racism happened at school, where I was targeted because of my hair. A few years later, I faced another racist incident at a bank due to wearing a turban. These experiences profoundly shifted my perspective and motivated me to take charge of the family store passed down to me, using it as a platform to empower Afro culture in Panama.
